A couple of the final things we had to do before leaving China was to obtain a Chinese Visa for Zoe, and to have her go through a very basic physical exam. In that exam, they just checked temperature, weight, length, head circumference, hearing, plus a basic "overall" looksee type evaluation.
After the physical, we went out & did some more walking around.
Shamian Island is also used as a backdrop to wedding photos. It IS a very pretty place.

Here we are, waiting for Zoe's physical exam.
Happy parents - Mark & Suzy from our travel group.
Hi Tech Hearing Test!
Well, I guess that checking temperature under the armpit is better than some of the alternatives.
But not by much!
Checking her weight was also a tragedy.
Chinese Army troops doing hand to hand training in the park. These poor guys are wearing long sleeves, long pants, and sweating their (Chinese) buns off. They didn't notice me shooting the still photos, but got a wee bit upset when they noticed the video camera.
Oops! So Sorry!

Looks like a playground, right?
It's for adults! This isn't just seen in Guangzhou. I saw a similar setup in Changsha.
Street shot.
Elementary school. Very nice building.
Kids in an outdoors gym class, across from the school. The little kid in the middle of the picture is going to be a rebel. Notice that his socks have dark bands on the top? WILD CRAZY REBEL!
More gym class photos. See the two wild & crazy rebels in the middle (untucked shirts)?

An excellent place to get an iced coffee, some Tira Misu, and some free internet time (free computer use, too).

It's also a nice cool place for a baby nap.
Of course, it helps if you can read Chinese.
