PIZZA PARTY!!!

Our final night in China, our group decided to have a pizza party in our hallway.

In our 5 star international hotel.

Well.....it seemed like a good idea at the time.

We ordered pizzas & such from Danny's Bagels in Guangzhou.

Some folks had soft drinks, but others among us samples various alcoholic goodies. These included beer and wine. Not just the normal stuff, but also some locally produced delicacies:

Guang's Pineapple Beer
Yup! Pineapple beer. When I saw this in the local grocery store, I had to try a can. Only 1, luckily. It tastes sort of like sweet pineapple juice mixed with beer. Only ~1.2% alcohol in it, so it's not much of a beer.

It's interesting to see that China is still using pull tabs (remember those?). This is the top to the Guang's Pineapple Beer can:

I wonder if the Chinese locals can read the disposal instructions in English.

Walmart Rose Red Wine
Walmart's Finest ($2/bottle) Rose Red Wine - it actually had rose buds in the bottom of the bottle (like a Tequila worm?) Label reads "The wine was made of best grapes in the world, and with internal advanced technics. It is clarity and has full-bodied fruit-smell, vinosity, and longaftertaste [yes, all 1 word]. At the bottom of the label, in fancy Gothic print, it says "Tasting best and delicious production, Elaborate brewing and classical making."

Gosh! They could probably even charge $3 per bottle for this stuff!

I Was There! (in between packing bags & burning CDs of my China pictures for Genie).

Well, half a bottle of Rose Red Wine was left after the pizza party. I couldn't let it go to waste, so it "helped" me pack our bags. The checked bags had to be out in the hallway by 10PM. It was originally 9PM, but I requested & was granted a special Genie Dispensation for the group - 10PM.

Even though we'd bought an extra suitcase at Sherry's Place, it was fun trying to fit all our "stuff" into the checked bags. One complicating factor is that you don't know if the luggage will survive the trip without being damaged/lost/pilfered. We carried back the "precious" stuff (Zoe's paperwork, her Finding clothes) in our carry-on bags.
