The White Swan hotel is actually on Shamian Island, separated from the mainland (Guangzhou city) by the Pearl River. While we were there, the Chinese celebrated the Moon Festival.
Late at night, the people go outside, celebrate, eat "moon cakes" (the one I had was filled with something like mincemeat), and watch the moon.
That night, neon lit boats cruised up & down the Pearl River.
The Chinese apparently want to keep this area looking beautiful.
And a couple shots from the following morning.....

The bottom part is in English.
Sort of.
Good Morning, Daddy!
Can you guess what I've got in my diaper for you?
A fine assortment of baby kibble.
There's Cheerios, little crunchy cookies (taste almost like fortune cookies), and Sea Creatures. Sea Creatures is the Chinese version of Goldfish, except they come in a variety of shapes.
